Early Accounting Critiques
In 1976, Baruch Lev published Financial Statement Analysis: A New Approach.
Decades later, in 1999, Bart Madden introduced more practical solutions in CFROI Valuation. Both works highlight how traditional accounting falls short for investors. Despite becoming more detailed and complex than in the early 20th century, information from annual reports has become less valuable to investors.
